We can’t waste resources, there is still time to save the planet: let’s take the bike!
Mohamed Ali is 28 years old and was born in Giza “near the Pyramids“. He speaks four languages (Italian, English, Arabic and Portuguese) and has lived in Italy for eight years. He chose to come to Italy to pursue his studies, with a scholarship, after graduating with an industrial technical focus from the Salesian Don Bosco Institute in Cairo.
Mohamed would like to create as many opportunities for himself as possible to fulfill his dreams. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Cassino in Lazio; he later moved to Turin to pursue a master’s degree at the Polytechnic.
“I am currently an engineer in the automotive industry. I am involved in software
qualification. In the future, I would like to try the field of automation and robotics, so that I don’t stay in the same field for many years”.
Previously, Mohamed also held a few odd jobs: math tutor at a school in Grugliasco, fruit, vendor, clerk at the supermarket, and worked with EDISU (Regional Authority for the Right
to University Study).
Upon his arrival in Europe, he initially encountered some difficulties because of cultural differences; many things were different from what he was used to. However, he learned the value of interpersonal relationships: “You understand that there is not only you in the world, you accept diversity and learn to love it”. Mohamed does not feel that he belongs to one land or nation, and his invitation is to discover the world, “While you can, travel!” About Italy, he appreciates the freedom to do what you want without naturally violating other people’s spaces.
Regarding research issues in Italy and more generally in Europe, he is interested in those related to the environment. “The planet is heading for ruin. Now I work on electric cars and I support and believe in the enforcement of European emissions legislation”.
Mohamed strongly believes that we can no longer afford to waste resources.
