Aperitivo Migrante – 31 January, Casa del Parco di Mirafiori
If the Scienza Migrante 2.0 project aims to be a portal to stories of science made by people who migrated to Italy to pursue their passion, the “Aperitivo Migrante” is the right opportunity to meet four of them in person. You will go from reading their stories, to hearing them first-hand with the possibility of asking questions and becoming even more curious about the worlds of science and migrations
When?
Friday, 31 January 2025 at the “Casa del Parco”, Neighbourhood House in the Mirafiori Sud area from 7 pm onwards.
The Neighbourhood Houses Network, as gathering places for citizens, are the perfect places to host those who have decided to change continent in order to continue their education or their research path and contribute to the evolution of science, which is essential on a global level.
It will be a moment to share experiences, historical and cultural aspects of their countries, similarities and differences with Italy both in everyday life and in the world of research. At the same time, it will also be an opportunity for them to be able to find on the one hand, a community that welcomes them and, on the other, to be able to share with those who have a similar story or those who have just arrived in Italy their own, and to be – perhaps – an inspiration.
The Aperitivo Migrante will be an informal, fun and above all interactive moment! Our protagonists will test the audience with a quiz on a variety of topics related both to science and their countries of origin.
But, with a full stomach we tend to talk and reason better, right? The evening will be accompanied by a free aperitif offered by the project and it will be hosted by Jordi and the duo Jack and Lo Smilzo, in collaboration with RKH Studio. The aperitif will be a moment of further sharing and chatting where we will be available to tell you something more about the project, about our other protagonists and listen to your curiosities, ideas and feedback!
On 31 January you will meet:
- Rosina Chiurazzi Morales who with her energy, will take you on an itinerary between Peru and Italy discovering both her origins and Turin’s neighbourhoods through a completely innovative and intercultural lens aimed at highlighting the role of migrations and the encounter between different cultures.
- Amir Reza Varzandi, a biotechnologist expert in Animal Sciences who has spent most of his academic career in Italy between Bologna and Turin. A great lover of journalism and world history, he will tell you interesting anecdotes about his country: Iran.
- Lynda Lattke, a citizen of the world who, once in Italy, began to feel alive again living among people of different cultures. Through her research she advocates a socio-emotional approach to education that encourages all the school staff, and beyond, to follow the path of inclusion and listening.
- Diango M. Montalvan Olivares, a nuclear physicist who tests technologies used in hadrontherapy, an innovative treatment against cancer. His work has a direct impact on society and he would like to bring everything he has learnt here, together with some resources, back home to Cuba.
We look forward to seeing you there!
